Concept for a micro house, 2019

A project for a large building or a big scheme can be a massive design statement, but sometimes we should concentrate on sorting out how a tiny space can be conveniently habitable.
We know the earth is overpopulated, cities are crammed, and the house prices are almost unaffordable for a considerable part of the population, especially in cities like London. This design exercise is focused on a small scale project, to sort out a tiny space as best as possible, to try to find a way of living using less space reducing resources and energy. It’s a study for a prefabricated 18 square metres house, with all facilities included.
Are we going to solve our planet problems? No, but we would love to keep the debate ongoing because we know that architecture is part of the problem, but it can also be part of the solution.
